Administrative Assistant

The Governors are seeking to appoint an Administrative Assistant to assist with a wide range of duties in the busy main school office.  Duties will include (amongst others): administration linked to student data, including:  Free School Meals and Pupil Premium; authorised absences; student references; school trips and events, Receptionist cover duties, support with student attendance, support with finance administration, First Aid. This person will work under the direction of the Office Manager and will be an intrinsic part of the school office team.  Ideally suited to this role would be someone with excellent communication skills and a highly organised approach.  Reliability and an enthusiastic outlook to problem-solving are key to this role.  The appointed candidate will be flexible in their approach to the wide-range of work undertaken by the office and be able to prioritise their workload.  Computer skills are essential as Word, Excel, SIMS, SchoolComms are used extensively in this role.  In addition, a very good level of both written and spoken English are essential. The successful candidate will be positive, proactive, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. A key part of the role is to deliver targeted, evidence-based interventions that accelerate progress for vulnerable learners, including pupils with SEND, those eligible for Pupil Premium, and other disadvantaged groups. Working closely with teachers and the SENDCo, you will lead small-group interventions and focus sessions,  adapting provision to maximise impact. These roles include opportunities to take a lead in a specialist area, sucj as Literacy, Numeracy, Science, or Social Skills interventions, planning and delivering structured programmes to support  pupil progress. The role includes supporting individuals, small groups, and occasionally whole classes, as well as observing pupils and providing regular feedback on academic, social, and emotional development. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on pupils’ learning and inclusion in a secondary school setting. The Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well-qualified graduate Teacher of Design & Technology to this selective school which has been FIVE times judged OUTSTANDING by OFSTED, the most recent Inspection being November 2022.

 

The successful candidate will join an experienced Design & Technology Department  which achieves outstanding results at GCSE, with a well established course. The school is currently considering re-introducing A Level Product Design from September 2025.

 

This opportunity will ideally suit someone who enjoys teaching well-motivated and intelligent pupils in an academic school which is committed to the ideals of Catholic education – the school was judged Outstanding in a Catholic Schools Inspection in November 2024.  Applications from experienced teachers are welcome but the existing expertise within the department means that this position is equally suited to an Early Career Teacher.  For full-time applicants, offering a second subject would be an advantage.

 

The Technology Rooms are in a modern block equipped with all the latest implements to aid teaching, from a laser cutter to two 3D printers.  There are also two computer suites of 16 PCs. The department has a dedicated Design and Technology Technician.
