St Augustine's of Canterbury RC Primary School are seeking to recruit a confident, highly skilled and organised individual to join the school as a Teaching Assistant Level 2B. This position is for 16.25 hours per week: Monday to Friday 8:40am - 11:55am. The successful applicant should have the appropriate NVQ level 2 or above qualification and have experience of working with children, experience of working in a classroom, strong organisation, time management and communication skills to support the Teacher within the class. Under the general supervision and direction of the teacher, to plan and implement learning activities for individuals and groups. To monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and establish supportive and constructive relationships with pupils, parents and carers. To provide short term cover for classes to which the Teaching Assistant is normally assigned, when the class teacher is unexpectedly unavailable. Under the general supervision and direction of the teacher to implement structured learning activities for individuals and groups of pupils. To implement specific programmes with individual pupils or groups appropriate to the developmental needs of individual children throughout different curriculum areas. To assist in the specific medical/care needs of pupils when specific training has been undertaken, including intimate care. To provide short-term cover for classes to which the Teaching Assistant is normally assigned, when the class teacher is unexpectedly unavailable. To assist with the arrangements for out of school learning activities including the administration of work experience. Administer routine tests, assist in the invigilation of exams and undertake routine marking of pupils work In addition, other duties at the same responsibility level may be interchanged with/added to this list at any time. St Augustine of Canterbury RC Primary School, are seeking to recruit an Out of School Club Assistant who can provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for the children placed in the Out of School Clubs and can assist the Club Manager to create high quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment. This role is for 3 days a week from 3:30pm - 5:30pm. Days TBC. The successful applicant should be experienced in working and caring for children, with strong communication and organisation skills, the ability to relate well to children and work as part as a team, and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. To support children in areas of personal hygiene, such as toileting and changing nappies, washing and changing, supporting and encouraging toilet training and good personal hygiene skills and routines To assist with maintenance of Club equipment, ensuring it is kept in a clean and tidy condition and reporting damages To communicate effectively with parents on a regular basis and report any information from parents as required To support children in an attachment and trauma sensitive way, understanding their experiences and barriers In addition, other duties at the same responsibility level may be interchanged with/added to this list at any time.
